"Know thyself", is a short phrase inscribed at the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. It reminds individuals to understand themselves, their limitations, and their role in the world. Here at The Connect, we will thrive to discover ourselfs through sharing our experiences.
What is The Connect?
Thoughts. Experiences. Inspiration.
"The Connect" is a platform for people to submit various forms of creative expression—written pieces, social commentary, poetry, short films, music, and more; there will be no limitations as long as the work provides some type of thorough thinking that will be valuable to share. Creators can choose to remain anonymous or share their names and contacts for further discussions with interested viewers. Each piece of work will be accompanied with a forum for thoughtful, reflective discussion that should show appreciation and respectfulness.
Why?
Create a New Method of Socialization
For a while I felt that courteous small talks didn’t make sense to me. There isn't an authentic voice under the common subjects talked over and over again, and it felt cliché that I have to go through a formulaic step before I can know someone truly. Is there a way where I can meet new people who shares a similiar passion of expressing shared stories through medias of poetry, essays, and art? A line of thought bloomed in my heart: I wanted to create a haven to activate souls, a space where people can drop the guarded edifice of their perceptive self, and freely share, converse, and experience each other’s stories That is when The Connect is born.
